We are seeking a Production Supervisor 2nd shift for our manufacturing facility in Bridgeport, MI www.gle-precision.com. This position is accountable for providing guidance and leadership to identified manufacturing operations in ensuring the production of quality products made on-time, in the right quantity and in a cost efficient manner in support of GLE manufacturing strategic objectives. GLE is a global leader in tungsten carbide machining, ceramic machining and other hard exotic materials machined to customer specifications.

Tasks
Oversee daily management people, processes and tools needed for manufacturing products.
Initiate and facilitate area process improvements in support of business objectives.
Support and drive culture of continuous improvement and lean within business and teams.
Analyze department workload and schedule requirements to develop execution plans, including manning and support personnel requirements and resource planning.
Serve as technical resource in areas of responsibility.
Ethically protect company resources and best interest.
Support and enforce safety procedures to assure a clean, safe work environment is promoted and maintained.
Manage resources in support of cost and quality objectives.
Develop and maintain positive employee relations.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Management or Engineering preferred. If a minimum of an Associates degree in Management or Engineering is not present, the candidate must have a willingness to obtain if hired with company assistance.
Min 5-7 years experience in a precision machining, job shop environment required
Routing or processing experience for grinding and EDM (Electronic Discharge Machine) preferred
Ability to inspect machined parts to .00005 inch
Flexible availability due to potential of working off-shifts and weekends
Ability to read and interpret product design prints
Experience in using lean tools such as 5-S, Kaizen, and value stream mapping
Strong computer skills with MS Word, Excel and Power Point; ERP system experience a plus
